County Council PASSES new Tax Disclosure Law.
YES, the Montgomery County Council did pass the bill which will require those selling their home to disclose the projected increased property tax bill for the new homeowner. While I didn't find anyone that was in favor of this, the Council passed it una nimously with comments that this information is critical to homeowners and some feel it will help homeowners from buying over their heads. This law will go into effect on April 1, 2008. Stay tuned for information on a worksheet and/or website that will assist a seller in making this calculation. As soon as the worksheet becomes available I will begin to teach it on my visits to your office at Tuesday Sales Meetings.
